What We Do

WISCs are a one-stop service centers, established by the trade unions as an initial and easily accessible contact point and/or resource center, to facilitate and provide appropriate services that may be useful for workers in coping with crisis situations.

The WISC in normal times is operated from a fixed physical space – with required office infrastructure and digital communication facilities such as telephones, mobile phones, computers, printers, internet facility, waiting area-reading/reference materials, registers, forms, templates files etc. However, in the Covid-19 pandemic, WISC can also operate remotely using technology and social media tools and platforms and digital data base.
